With Superintendent Jim O'Shea's upcoming retirement and with a new Strategic Plan being drafted this year, the Carlisle School Committee has decided to hire a one-year interim superintendent. This person will start on July 1, 2026. The Carlisle School Committee also plans to conduct a search for a permanent superintendent in late 2026. 

After not deciding to move forward with the finalists in our May 13 meeting, the School Committee has worked to identify new candidates to bring forward. After selecting candidates during the May 28 meeting, the anticipated timeline is as follows:

  • June 9–11: Community meet-and-greet*, school tour, teacher meet-and-greet, and final interviews with the School Committee

     *Community meet-and-greets -- Tuesday, June 9th, Wednesday June 10th and Thursday, June 11th -- 8:45 AM at the Outdoor Classroom (weather permitting)
