Dear Carlisle Families,

It’s that time of year once again, when you might think things are ‘winding down’ at CPS, when, in fact, they are really ‘winding up’ : )  We are bursting with energy as we close out the 2025-2026 school year with an incredible lineup of classroom presentations, thrilling field trips, vibrant performances, and joyful community celebrations.

This week, our 8th graders are off to Washington, D.C., to explore the nation’s capital and create lifelong memories together prior to graduation on June 18th. Back on campus, our 3rd graders are bringing history to life with their Indigenous Museums on the plaza, and our talented Preschoolers are ready to shine at their annual Art Show.  While our Kindergarten classes get ready for their end-of-year celebrations, we are also looking to the future! On the June 2nd early release day, we can’t wait to welcome our incoming students for our special “Growing into Kindergarten” event.

Looking ahead, on Friday, June 12th, the community will recognize PRIDE Month with Carlisle’s own PRIDE Celebration. This event is sponsored by the DEICAC, Gleason Public Library, COAHS, and The First Religious Society, in partnership with CPS, the CCHS Spectrum Club, and the CPS Pride Club. Come hear our amazing CPS Choir and Band students perform at Carlisle’s Race Amity Day Celebration taking place on Sunday, June 14th, from 1:00-4:00 PM on the Town Common. On Monday, June 22nd, the PTO will host Pops on the Plaza, a favorite Carlisle tradition. Students can enjoy a cool treat and celebrate the last full day of school with friends on the playground.

A special milestone is just around the corner as we prepare to celebrate the CPS 8th Grade Class of 2026. Our annual graduation ceremony, honoring the accomplishments of our graduating students and their families, will be held on Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 PM on the Plaza, weather permitting.  We invite the entire CPS community to join us as we recognize and celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and wish them well as they embark on their next chapter.

Additionally, I want to take a moment to Congratulate Marcella Pixley, our Drama Club Advisor, along with all the members of our Drama Club, as well as, the adults who support the Drama Club and their productions on the great success of their recent production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  The entire production was outstanding and I am incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to the success of the production.

I also want to congratulate and thank Jeremy Behrle for all he has done for not only our Drama Club, but our entire school community.  Jeremy has been an incredible supporter of both school and community drama productions, donating countless hours to productions and the maintenance and updating of our school auditorium.  It was wonderful that our School Committee and our school community recognized Jeremy's significant contributions by naming the auditorium in his honor.  We will now always be reminded of both Jeremy’s contributions and the importance of community service, whenever we attend an event in the Behrle Auditorium.

Finally, as this is my last letter for “The Buzz,” I wanted to take a moment to thank our entire school community for their support, patience, understanding, generosity and kindness over these past 10 years.  It has been wonderful to be part of such a special community, and I am incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to be part of the life of this special place and the students, families and staff who make it what it is

Warm regards,

Jim O’Shea

Superintendent

CARLISLE PUBLIC SCHOOL TO LAUNCH PARENTSQUARE

Carlisle Public School is excited to share that as part of our ongoing commitment to support your student’s success and improve communication for families we are making some changes this summer in how we connect with you.

In July, we are officially launching ParentSquare—a premier, all-in-one communication platform designed to bring our school community closer than ever before!

Why the change? We listened to you! We know that managing school updates can feel overwhelming, especially if you have multiple students. You asked for a streamlined, manageable way to stay informed, and the School Committee and administration team went to work to find the solution.

ParentSquare is going to streamline your experience by consolidating all school and district communications into one single, easy-to-use platform. No more hunting through multiple apps or cluttered inboxes!

Click here for an exciting 2-minute video introduction to ParentSquare!

This upgrade is all about creating a more consistent, efficient, and accessible connection between home and school. We can’t wait to roll this out in the coming weeks!

What’s next? Keep an eye on your inbox. We will be sharing details this month on how to set up your account and customize your notification preferences so you get information exactly when and how you want it.

Thank you for teaming up with CPS to make our school community stronger and more connected!
