Dear Carlisle Families,

April has arrived and with it comes the excitement that usually accompanies spring in Carlisle.  The longer, brighter days are a welcome change and offer more opportunities to spend time outdoors with friends, family, and neighbors. (now if we could only get the temperatures to cooperate, we would be in great shape : )

This month also brings exciting travel opportunities that our students have been planning for all year. We wish Mme. Rivier and a group of middle school students bon voyage as they travel to Quebec City. During this four-day experience, students will deepen their understanding of the French language while exploring the rich history and culture of the region. At the same time, Señora Steffek and another group of middle school students will be traveling to Puerto Rico, where they will experience the vibrant culture and natural beauty of San Juan. These trips provide invaluable opportunities for students to expand their learning beyond the classroom.

Spring athletics are also getting underway. We look forward to cheering on our volleyball and ultimate frisbee teams this season. Please visit the district calendar on the school website for information on upcoming games and matches.

Be sure to mark your calendars for an exciting community event, the Carlisle Education Foundation (CEF) and Carlisle Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) fundraiser, My So-Called Prom!, scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at the Concord Armory. This fun-filled evening will bring together members of the Carlisle community to celebrate and support our schools. Attendees can enjoy music, dancing, and a lively auction. We hope you will consider joining in what promises to be a memorable night.  To purchase tickets or for more information click here.

April vacation will take place from April 20 through April 24, with no school during that week. Patriots’ Day will be observed on Monday, April 20, a longstanding Massachusetts tradition that coincides with the running of the Boston Marathon. Whether you plan to visit Concord for local events or cheer on runners along the marathon route, it is a wonderful time to enjoy the spirit of the season.

For those of you looking ahead, the last day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, which will be an early release day. The 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony is planned for Thursday, June 18. Additional details about graduation will be shared in the coming weeks.

Wishing you a wonderful spring season.

Warm regards,

Jim O’Shea

Superintendent
