2025-2026 Bus Fees
Bus Fee Letter for Students in Grades 7 & 8 - 2025-2026
Under Massachusetts State Law Chapter 71, Section 68, schools are required to transport pupils in grades K-6 who live two or more miles from the school. Providing transportation for students in grades 7 and 8 is optional, regardless of the distance from their residence to the school. As in past years, the district will charge a bus fee for all students in grades 7 and 8 riding the bus during the 2025-2026 school year. In an effort to alleviate the strain of paying multiple fees, the School Committee has approved an amended fee structure for families with multiple riders. The fee for the first rider from a family is $425.00 and the fee for each subsequent rider is $212.50, half the price of the initial bus pass fee.
Bus fees may be waived for students who qualify for Free or Reduced School Meals. For more information on how to apply for Free and Reduced Meals please visit the Carlisle Public School website and click on the Free & Reduced Application link in the Important Documents section of the Business Office webpage. This program is handled in a totally confidential manner, and may be initiated by submitting an application to the school or by contacting the Food Service Director or Principal.
Bus routes are published on the school website approximately one week prior to the start of school. Bus passes will be generated over the summer and given to students at the start of the school year. Students without passes will not be allowed to ride the bus to or from school after the first week of classes, and this includes the afternoon late bus for after school activities.
