Dear Carlisle Families,
It is with great anticipation, enthusiasm, and pride that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Carlisle Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our middle school and I am looking forward to getting to know the faculty, students, families and members of the Carlisle community. I bring with me twenty years of middle school leadership and teaching experience at public and private schools located in suburban, urban, and international communities.
It is with deliberate purpose that I have centered my career at the middle school level. I believe that adolescent learning, when surrounded by talented educators and supported with a team approach, can truly be a positive and transformational time for our students. Furthermore, I believe it is critical that middle school educators are reflective practitioners who set and maintain high expectations so that all students may grow, improve, and ultimately flourish as lifelong-learners.
As a continuous learner myself, I have taken deliberate steps throughout my educational career to understand a wide variety of perspectives surrounding effective middle school leadership. Prior to joining Carlisle Public Schools, I served as the Assistant Principal of John Glenn Middle School in Bedford. Previously, I served as the Social Studies Department Head in Lexington and taught history and geography at the middle school level. My leadership style has been described by others as collaborative in nature, relationship driven, evidence-based, and fundamentally student-centered.
Partnering with our families and community is an integral part of ensuring that your children’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. To this end, your feedback and support are essential components to our collective improvement. I hope you understand that my door is always open and that I sincerely welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout this summer and the upcoming school year.
