8th Grade Language Arts is a literature-intensive, discussion-based writing course, designed to develop Carlisle students’ creative, analytic and critical skills. The core literature for 8th grade explores issues of society, human rights, power and identity. In addition to their study of literature, 8th graders will participate in a regularly-scheduled, vibrant Writing Workshop two days each week in which they will practice gathering ideas, drafting, revising and publishing their own creative work. All 8th graders will be encouraged to publish in Pandora’s Box at the end of the year.
