"The Carlisle Chinese New Year celebration was initiated by Chiao Bin Huang and sponsored by Carlisle Cultural Council in 2005. Since then Carlisle Public Schools has been supported Carlisle Chinese New Year celebration event.
The Carlisle Chinese New Year celebration was first created to introduce the Chinese art and culture to the community. It is a family-oriented annual event with the participation of approximately 400 students, teachers, parents and residents of the town of Carlisle. In 2006, the Carlisle Chinese New Year celebration received a Gold Star Project award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. To be awarded a Gold Star in Massachusetts, a community must demonstrate ways in which it has created common ground among diverse constituents and provided a sense of celebration. In its award citation, Carlisle’s Cultural Council and its community-wide Chinese New Year celebration was honored for its effort to do this."
