    Dear Carlisle Families,

    Happy New Year!

I hope this email finds you and your family doing well.

It was wonderful to welcome our students back to school yesterday after the much deserved vacation, and I was thankful that the precipitation didn't create travel problems for the morning.

I want to thank all of you who followed the state guidance over the break with the hope of avoiding another post-holiday spike in cases.  I also want to thank those of you who took the time to fill out the "out of state travel form" for us.  The travel information sharing process appears to have worked well, as Lauren Sawyer, our school nurse, has been working closely with a number of families and faculty on accessing and tracking the appropriate testing needed for their return to school or work.  It is worth reiterating that our ability to manage the spread of the virus is directly related to our adherence to state guidance and our compliance with the strategies we are implementing as a school, which is why I appreciate the cooperation that our entire community is showing.

Even though we may all grow tired of hearing it, I do want to take a moment to remind everyone that our best course of action in containing the spread of the virus in our schools is to continue with the strategies that have proven effective, keeping children home when they are not feeling well, wearing a mask, maintaining good hand hygiene, disinfecting surfaces, maintaining distancing and, of course, contacting our school nurse if you have any questions.

As a community, we have done an exceptional job, to date, in managing this challenge and keeping our students in school, and we want to see this success continue in the new year.

As always, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or thoughts you would like to share.

    Warm regards,
